Actually...sorry Charity...my intent was to do it in the afternoon US time. Just because we always do stuff at night US time, and the europeans have it in the middle of the night...I just thought it might be nice this time, since people from europe are a good third of the group. There's really no way to get australia, europe and north america all in one place at a time that's convenient for all three...pick two. :\
What does everybody think of having the train be from like 3-4 pm EST, then start the sorting at 4, obviously of course with the option to chill in Diagon and RP shopping for a few hours earlier that day? That would put things at like 8-11 pmish UK/european time. I think that would be like 8-9 am in NZ? I'm just guessing there. I'm not sure if morning works at all for you(you might work or have school) but it's really the only way to not have someone somewhere awake when they should be sleeping.

Well, this is probably not going to happen but what about if we do it in a few groups? So that if some people miss it, we could always imply they were there with the "main" group and do it with the others. Maybe there could be an RP thread to post how the characters would interact or anything of note that happens during the trip since they would ICly all be together?

We could make timezone groups yes, or even schedules for everyone...
Not all students will be able to interact with everyone, they sit in train cars in groups, so maybe we could work with that.

I do not know about the whole chilling in Diagon... It would be best that everyone pretty much gets a glimpce of others in the train station. You do not buy your things on the day you leave , so no need to hang in Diagon. In advance people should get the things for the new character.

Well...who -can't- make the time I posted? We could move it an hour earlier or so, but I don't want to go too early for the west coast people(or charity if she tries to make it on monday), but I tried to pick the time that would be acceptable for the largest amount of people.

And I like the RP post thread idea, in addition to the event. I might go ahead and start one in the next week or so, in case anyone wants to post leading up to it.

Seriously, you UK people have school and exams and stuff on sunday? That's why I picked a weekend and made it early. >_>
I realize that not everybody would be able to come. My hope is that we can get a time that at least 3/4 of the people would be able to attend. The problem with moving it up to 6 is that it pushes it way too late for the european people who have school/work the next day(or, apparently, on sunday itself...squeaky never finished explaining this problem to me).

And yeah, the first post is a bit out of date. I think there's one or two people who posted here that I still need to remove, and people kept pming me in game as well.

Alright, let's try this. Sunday September 4th(I'm not pushing it later unless it turns out that that weekend sucks for more than just gladerune, we all want to get going on this). What times, in GMT/UTC, would you be able to play? Just give a best guess based on what you know of your sunday/monday schedule this far in advance. For a train ride/sorting thing, I can't imagine it going longer than about 2 hours, tops. Unless you all have epic RP with the hat(Don't do it, we'd be there all night >_> lol). I'll try to pick a time that works for as many people as possible. If you don't post, you can't complain about inconvenient times.

Myself: I could be online anytime from about 5pm onwards.

Just a thought. Why Sunday? Why not Saturday? Then noone has to get up for school/work the next morning.

I work both fridays and saturdays(Every single one. It gets old.), and by the time I get back it's too late for people to be up, even on the weekends.

We can have two sortings, people. The thing about a group like this is that no matter what time you come up with for the initial meeting, after that people are going to go their own ways and get on at their own times. It happened last time and it'll happen this time too, unfortunately.
