The christmas hall is now open!
The holiday celebration will take place on the evening of Saturday 12/21/13, and will involve a feast, the judging of two competitions, and then the Yule Ball.
The Yule Ball will be a formal dance, and all students are expected to arrive suitably attired(formal dresses or dress robes for girls, and suits or dress robes for boys) and behave themselves appropriately.
Gingerbread House CompetitionThe gingerbread house competition is a traditional event during the hogwarts yuletide season, and can be entered inside the christmas hall. Voting will take place during the coming week.
Prizes:1st - 15 house points
2nd - 10 house points
3rd - 5 house points
Snowflake CompetitionThe snowflake competition is new this year, by student request. Students may decorate their paper snowflakes with markers, glitter, and with sequins, all of which are supplied at the craft table. Magical enchantments are not allowed. Enter by responding to this thread, with the image of your snowflake and your character name in the post. Voting will take place during the yule ball.
You can make a snowflake through
this online app(select preview->save->download, and then rehost your snowflake on a site such as photobucket, imageshack, or imgur) or create one IRL and photograph it before uploading(for instructions to make a scientifically-correct 6-sided snowflake, see
here). Colors, glitter, and sequins may be digitally applied, or emoted in the text of your post.
