Yes, I've been meaning to catch hold of certain people to let them know about this, I just found out earlier myself. The only downside is that you have to install Origin in order to get the download, but if you don't want to run the games through Origin I'm confident there's a way you can make that happen, even without dealing with sketchy .exe patches.

It's better than Sims 4! At least you have pools of DEATH in Sims 2.

Depends on what you mean by "better" JB. It was different. You had less goal- and quest-based gameplay, the world wasn't open, and you didn't have story progression moving inactive households along. On the other side of the coin, you could set your own goals for families(rather than following the ones the game hands you) and households didn't run away without you(having sims move out of town, die, or get married to a stupid npc while you weren't watching). In addition, in sims 3 it was too easy to succeed. There was no challenge to being rich, it happened on its own even if you were purposely trying to avoid opportunities that gave you $50,000 rocks or that paid $20,000 for 5 hours of work. Also, children would almost always end up with top grades in school, because homework was too easy and they'd do it as a hard-coded action every time you didn't occupy them with something else in their queue, so it was impossible to have average students, let alone a student who was struggling, without cheating and adjusting their grade down.
In short, I believe that sims 2 was the superior game in many ways, but there are ways in which sims 3 was better, such as the seamless world, some building tools and create-a-style.

Unless you're implying that it was released early where you live. I'm pretty sure it'll be "released" a few weeks early, if you know where to look... But what he was actually referring to was the information released by EA on what was cut. There will be no toddlers, pools, or create-a-style(yes, we're back to TS2-style downloading of multiple recolors of furniture and clothes just to match a room up), which were expected staples of the game series. The first two have been stated to be released in future expansions, which is being interpreted as money grab.

The Ultimate Collection came out only a couple of months after I bought the last Sims 2 stuff pack. DX
I tried to get into 3, but I just hated the pudding faces and everyone else growing up without you and Sims 2 is just ten times better. Looks like I'll still be playing it after Sim 4 comes out.

This sounds like Sam/Yendys if they observed me playing.
