The young romantics around the school coo over how Sam McKinnon and Roo Trams fell asleep cuddling last night. Details clarify by the end of the day that it might not have happened and Roo had merely swooned about having 'the best dream ever' at breakfast this morning.

In other news, someone filled the Potions classroom with live bats, only for Snape to silently make them all "disappear" at the beginning of class. Older students of course would recognize they were only conjured... probably.

The Gryffindor Commons, and girl's sleeping quarters were also filled with bats come the next day, at which point the bats stopped coming. Notoriously loud and obnoxious second year Tatiana Dementieva and her best friend Leucosia are seen bragging about their "dangerous liberation" of a plaster nose that Tati won't let out of her hands.

Sam McKinnon was seen during morning classes on Tuesday with a strange wound on the left side of his neck. It looked almost like a series of semi-healed shallow slash wounds, like you might get from a razor - four altogether, with one deeper than the others, all oriented in the same direction. Botched assault? Shaving accident? Something more? His fellow Ravenclaws claim that bloody bedsheets were left out for the elves to take at some point on Monday evening, so whatever it was must have happened in his room that night. After lunch on Tuesday, he was forced by Professor McGonagall to go to the hospital wing to get it healed, but the rumors didn't stop when the wound disappeared.

Some idiot left a fire with live ashwinders in it right in front of the castle front doors. A first year had to go and see Madam Pomfrey for first degree burns after stumbling across it. The girl and an older student could later be seen taking a sack of eggs down to Hagrid for disposal. Then Hagrid's hut exploded.

A pissed-off Sam McKinnon was spotted stomping around school this morning, with burns on his right arm and left leg. Rumor has it he took on the nest of Ashwinders after they dared to assault him on his morning run. There were no survivors.

Also, he appears to have dyed his hair green. Who does he think he is, some kind of wannabe Slytherin?

Some of the Claws mumble sleepily over breakfast about how a couple of classmates floo'd in after curfew. They were bloody and... intoxicated? Roo was definitely identified because of her purple hair. It's the green-haired boy who isn't quite labeled yet.

As I like to do with all of my trips and vacations, Cray's absence is in character. Where he is, not a ton of people know. Vacation most likely, though considering the rumors that had been around previously revolving around Cray, hardcore rumor spreaders believe that Cray ran away due to the stress of finally coming to terms that his relationship is over. Poor, poor Cray.

His friends (you know who you are) would know, however, through Cray telling them directly (he would, but I haven't had time to get on lately due to packing and such) that he will bring back souvenirs from his trip.

Hufflepuff second year Chandler Mallory was overheard in the entrance hall defending Professor Snape, insisting that he deserved respect for his potions prowess even as other students claimed they could never respect a man that bullied young students that way. What a teacher's pet!

Rumors spread that Ruoy Trams had to be excused from Divinations because of her erratic behavior. She was practically bouncing in her chair, childishly rolling an orb around the table when it fell of -right- onto Trelawney's foot. It's said the ridiculous noise that came out of the professor's mouth was nothing compared to how Trams fell out of her chair laughing.

Apparently Madam Pomfrey was called to an incident outside the library where 3 girls were the victims of bad Ashwinder egg storage. It's lucky they weren't in the library; think of all those books.

A curious tree has appeared in the gardens by the shore of the lake. It stands about 6-7' tall, has diamond-shaped green-gold leaves, and is enclosed with an enchanted fence that causes the air around it to shimmer.
Wand writing around the enclosure reads:
"Do not touch! Do not disturb! -Professor Sprout"
