Prefects are going to be chosen once again soon.
The prefect position will be one of honor and prestige--almost as much as Head Boy and Head Girl, but not particularly one of power. Guidelines for prefects will be specific.
More to be announced.

New prefects were announced at the start of the Fairy Tale Ball in June.

Updated. Benjamin Cordin replaces Gaius Barker, because DMs don't hold key PC positions like prefect or quidditch captain or Tri Wiz champion.

How about Zach then? He is a DM, Prefect and a Quidditch team Captain.
If I were asked though I'd let him keep the captainhood since he is one of the few Ravenclaws that actually know how quidditch works.

You're right, Serge. We should lynch him, just like Sho. Got rope, or just wanna start lambasting him here on the forums?

I believe when she became a DM she gave up all of those things...

I don't really have a problem with a DM PC being in a position of power, as long as that's not the only way to get a position of power. But think about it...who are the DM's? Typically, the DM's are selected from the most involved and talented players to begin with. I think it's fairly obvious when power is being abused, and to cut out the most logical players for a position because they turn into teachers when they relog sounds like shooting yourself in the foot to me.

Agreed with the above post. But... just trust us, there's a very important
dynamic that must be looked at.
I feel, just as the last 'Dynasty' felt, that it's best if we have a separation
of powers. Lets not put all of our eggs in one basket.

Ah, but it's so much easier to buy the replacement eggs after the basket tumbles.

Or maybe I'm just a stick in the mud. =P
Trust me, nobody wants to be prefect more than I do, but I realize that it
would be so incredibly wrong of me to make Priggo prefect, -even if- he
only stopped because I became GM.
It's just the way I'm going to do things, and I think everyone who has
something to lose will understand.

I was thinking more that all the other GM's could make you a prefect, but I admit I have no idea what the dynamics of the selection process look like here. Well, if the server rocks, it seems you're doing something right
