I always thought that Voldemort was not really gone. As in the Death of Voldemort in the seventh book has not taken place yet. That we are alll before Harry Potters time but at a time of darkness. Where voldemort is gathering his army and death eaters and the like are making havoc. Because if it was after, Why is Dumbledore, Snape, Mad-Eye...just to name a few that exist when really they shouldn't if we are talking about events taking place after the death of Voldemort.
