As students wake up, they begin to realize something completely weird... they are in fact in their beds, in their dorms, in the Hogwarts castle. How could this be? After all, the castle was blown up by a mad man only a month ago.
As students begin to talk to each other, they will find out that everyone they see is in fact in the same boat. Everyone thought the castle had blown up. Everyone thought they had lost people near to them. But moments later, those on the list of the dead seem to be standing right there next to everyone, completely oblivious to anything like the castle having been blown up. What on earth is going on?
Students would make their way to the Entrance Hall, and then to the Great Hall, where breakfast is laid out, just like on any other day. Professors would file into the room, including Professor Moody, not looking pleased at all. Whispers among the professors would make it clear to anyone near them that they too are just as surprised to see the castle, now in one piece. When asked what is going on, Professors would shoo away the questions and say "You'll be informed in a moment." Why are they so displeased? Apparently almost 300 people did, in fact, not die last month.
As breakfast begins, students all over the great hall would be demanding an explanation of the professors, who seem to know something they won't say. Soon, Professor Lockhart walks in, a look of terror on his face, followed closely by Professor Snape- who would have his wand out and seeming to make sure Professor Lockhart goes nowhere but where he is supposed to go.
Dumbledore would stand, and give a little speech that most students would find completely unacceptable at this time, about how his Bertie Bott's beans were particularly sour this morning. But then, he would hand the floor to Professor Lockhart, who would very reluctantly take the floor.
Suddenly, an award-winning smile would form on his face as he exclaims "April fools!" Silence would cover the halls, and Professor Snape would clearly be doing everything he could to keep himself from casting on Professor Lockhart. Lockhart surely would not miss it, as his smile fades, and he continues to explain. "This last month, since the attack on the school, has been an April Fools joke, you see. The entire last month simply happened in your dreams as you slept. A clever memory charm, if I do say to myself. I couldn't get to everyone, unfortunately, so the ones I could not get to are the ones who... died. But you should all know that I always planned to include you in my new book! Especially Mister Black, who I -personally- saved from the rubble...."
Professor Dumbledore would take the floor once again, casting a smiling gaze upon the shocked and stunned and obviously very angered students. "A well done memory charm indeed." Several outbursts from the students at Lockhart would be put to a stop instantly by Dumbledore's raised hand, and his gaze eventually rests upon Professor Lockhart, and Dumbledore's smile fades. He would take Professor Lockhart by the arm, giving Professor Snape a nod, and escort Lockhart from the room personally.
The last month has been an April Fools joke played by Lockhart on the student body, all taking place in one night as students slept in their beds. Everyone, of course, assumes at this point that Professor Lockhart is fired. But only time will tell.
Actually, not really. The April Fools joke is this post. Sike. The school's still just as blown up as it was yesterday, and Lockhart is still a prof.

You shouldn't add the last paragraph until after April Fool's Day is over. Otherwise you won't know how many people would have fallen for it.

As one of the most gullible people in the world... I will admit... I fell for it... As I was reading I had this screwed up expression and kept saying "wtf?..... Seriously?!?!" Then I got to the end and was all " ................... I need food...........".
I think this one got me as good as IGA did with their 'Zelda' movie.

But it would have been TOO mean because people would have started RPing it, even if by just letting it sink in in their heads, and that would have been bad. I will admit that the thought -briefly- crossed our minds to actually revert the module to pre-attack for the day, but that would have been seriously destructive to characters, because it is so hard to un-RP something.

Wouldn't it have been evil if we'd waited a month to start the plot?

April Fool's Day illusion. XD PirenBlackheart wrote: I'm more upset that Snape didn't accidentally harm Lockhart then anything else.... Yes, 'accidentally' ...
